Axis Insurance Welcomes Three Industry Experts as New Senior Leaders

We are excited to announce the addition of three new Senior Leaders to the Axis team!
Tim Gale is the newly appointed Executive Vice President who is tasked with building and scaling Axis’ 16 identified practice groups. Bjorn Ostlund is the new National Senior Vice President of the Energy, Resources, & Renewables practice group and Roland Waldmeier is the new National Senior Vice President of the Construction, Contractors, & Real Estate practice group.
Tim Gale has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has previously occupied senior leadership roles with Marsh Canada and most recently WTW. He specializes in P&C lines for complex risk clients and has experience with most major industry sectors. Tim is well-connected in the insurance marketplace in Vancouver and throughout Canada, and is known for building diverse and high-functioning teams. Above all he is passionate about building a work environment that enables the successful recruitment and development of talent in the brokerage industry. “I believe strongly in the power of teams and in mentoring colleagues to achieve the best they can in their careers.” explained Tim.
Bjorn Ostlund has over 30 years of experience in risk management specializing in Energy (onshore and offshore), Mining, and Power. He will lead Axis’ Energy, Resources, & Renewables practice group. His broad and international experience has led him to oversee many large Canadian and multi-National risk management accounts. Bjorn fosters strong relationships with both clients and underwriters, and ensures he is personally involved in the broking of his clients’ programs. He is dedicated to keeping clients informed on the current state of the insurance market, including developing trends and issues, and to all the better provide them with the best possible risk management approaches that achieves superior results.
Roland Waldmeier started his career in 1988 and was most recently the Corporate Segment Leader for Marsh in Vancouver. He will oversee Axis’ Construction, Contractors, & Real Estate practice group. His leadership approach is people centric, putting an emphasis on mentorship, and being a reliable resource for his team and clients. Roland’s experience and strong relationships within the insurance industry have always had a focus on Construction, with this it has helped him successfully develop new insurance solutions and capacity within Canada. “A focused team is a winning team, that is what Axis is all about and I am very happy to be part of that.” explained Roland.
